before the claimed land thing me and a few other friends built all in the same area, i can no longer build in that area or open any of my chests I was wondering if maybe someone could help me? :/

Was it on the 1.7 map? If so, that map is a "musuem" map, Meaning that you cant place or break blocks, you cant open chests and there isnt any mobs :p

The fact that you can't open chests immediately shows me that you are talking about something built on the 1.7 map which is now read only and can not be edited in any way. It is only to look at now. Locking thread.
