Fully automated brewing station

by teknix » Sun Jun 21, 2015 2:07 am

I am almost done building this on my server and I was considering building it under my home (a lot of redstone, though), so I figured the projects board is the appropriate place for this. I was watching some auto brew redstone builds and noticed that there really are not a lot of them that actually automate the ingredient selection as well as the brewing. It seems that most either have you dump a bunch of stuff in a chest and it just brews what it is given, or you toggle the ingredients and push a button to do the brew.

I decided to build one where you push a button for the potion you want and it just selects all of the ingredients and then brews. I am still finishing up the gunpowder component for splash potions, but so far everything else is working (getting ready to run through and test all of the potions to verify).

I have 31 potions:

Potion of Night Vision (3m)
Potion of Night Vision + (8m)
Potion of Invisibility (3m)
Potion of Invisibility + (8m)
Potion of Leaping (3m)
Potion of Leaping + (8m)
Potion of Leaping II (1.5m)
Potion of Fire Resistance (3m)
Potion of Fire Resistance + (8m)
Potion of Swiftness (3m)
Potion of Swiftness + (8m)
Potion of Swiftness II (1.5m)
Potion of Slowness (1.5m)
Potion of Slowness + (4m)
Potion of Water Breathing (3m)
Potion of Water Breathing + (8m)
Potion of Healing (2hearts)
Potion of Healing II (4hearts)
Potion of Harming (3hearts)
Potion of Harming II (6hearts)
Potion of Poison (45s)
Potion of Poison + (2m)
Potion of Poison II (22s)
Potion of Regeneration (45s)
Potion of Regeneration + (2m)
Potion of Regeneration II (22s)
Potion of Strength (3m)
Potion of Strength + (8m)
Potion of Strength II (1.5m)
Potion of Weakness (1.5m)
Potion of Weakness + (4m)

I will do a quick video when I am done but here are a few preview screenshots.

I did a complete rebuild because my first one was not as efficient as I liked. I am sure that this one could still be better but it is much more efficient than the last, particularly because I am not using as many hoppers. There are still a couple of things that I would like, such as inventory detectors and locking to prevent overloading the ingredients if you spam buttons, but I was trying to compact it a bit and didn't leave space for things like comparators on the droppers. But I figure that if I am building this under my place, I will be the only one using it anyway.

But here is the new version, with the same potions as listed above plus splash.

Thanks. Getting ready to build it under my place. Just excavated a 40x30x15 space underground to put it and am now gathering all my mats.

If you want I can give you some redstone I never bother to use. I wouldn't be offended if you declined my offer BTW.
